develop a farm plan
carefully evaluate the site
select the appropriate plant mix
prepare the soil and plant the hedgerow or buffer strip
have a plan for watering the plants and for weed and rodent control, especially during the establishment period
Once established, hedgerows and buffer strips usually do very well with just annual maintenance to keep weeds under control.
