Unit 3: Managing the Farm/Ranch Business for Long-Term Success

In wrapping up this final unit of the course, keep in mind that farm management skills take time to develop. Experienced business managers will tell you they never stop learning. Remind the farmers and ranchers you work with to be intentional about this, and to seek out help when needed. One of the most important things they can do is to establish a business advisory team that will provide guidance and support and help them address the many challenges of owning and managing a farm business. Encourage them to think broadly about the makeup of that advisory team: The management skills described in this unit are shared across many different types of businesses and professions.
Before you exit the course, take some time to explore the 'Resources' section available through the Resources tab in the navigation bar at the top of this page.
Congratulations!
